I am not sure if humans deserve to live on Earth.
How about a rat placed on body of the convict. SHe must find a way out of her prison through of his body:). I have seen it in Game of Thrones and i have read about in various books.
Impaling is no doubt the worst way to die. I think that the medieval executioners were a true sick minds.
i don’t think so. medieval people were more pragmatic than present population, the word “humanity” was something unknown those times. just imagine the road robbers who lived from murders and thefts. they were cruel kind, they usually killed all robed victims. Violence was part of the medieval life and nobody spared the weaker. the only reasonable answer to cruelties was just even worse cruelty. if you wish to eliminate the bastards living for killing you cannot use a nice words, you have to use sword and fire and all other inventions described in the great article above. the ruling caste – nobles lived from killing and murders. the good nobles killed in the name of king and the bad nobles were just rich assassins who muredered anyone who passed their territory for money, ransom, equipment… just a dark times.
Agree with Franco M. It was a diffrent type of culture, and these execution methods were what they deemed necessary to extermine crime.
Disgusting reading
How about the crucifixion?
The crucifixion was very common in ancient times (Persia, Rome). 1000s gladiators were crucified around the ways after Spartacus defeat but i think that this punishment was not too common in medieval Europe.
Even the worst bastards who were not scared of death were usually scared of God and nobody was able to dare to play with his revenge by using crucifixation.
Crucifixation was often performed by pagans to missionaries.
Impaling is the worst execution ever . Vlad Dracula was a real Transylvanian count about whom the vampire stories were created, but he was supposed to have run nearly a hundred thousand enemies through with a stake and left to die. Inserted through the anus, vagina or just through the torso, the body would be suspended. Often the stake would poke out the neck, which is the source of the neck puncture aspect of the vampire story.
The blood eagle looks really painful.
Very Cool !
