The Order of Santiago was a military and religious order that arose in the twelfth century in the Kingdom of Leon. It owes its name to the national pattern of Spain, Santiago el Mayor. Its original purpose was to protect pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago and drive back the Muslims from the Iberian Peninsula.
Following the death of Grand Master in 1493 Alonso de Cardenas, the Catholic Monarchs joined the Order of the Crown of Spain and Pope Adrian VI joined forever Maestrazgo Santiago to the crown in 1523.
All cotton made clothing, composed of white colored cloak with a sewn red cross of Santiago. Typical dress of a knight of the order of St. James, founded in Spain in 1158 to protect the pilgrims on their way toward the Compostela sanctuary. One size. Cloak ONLY accessories not included
