In 1884 the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (the precursor to the New South Wales Fire Brigade) was formed in Sydney Australia.

This Brass Fireman's helmet comes with the inscription 'NSWFB' embossed over centre front. The NSW Fireman helmet has a cockade embossed with fire breathing dragons. It has a short peak at the front and a deeper rim at the back. Includes the Brass chain strap.
