The helm was worn by medieval Russian boyars (Russian nobility) and by members of guard and elite troops.
This helmet came to Russia probably from Persia.
This Russian Helm is constructed from 14 gauge steel and embellished with plates of brass. The helm is fitted with a camail of butted, mild steel chainmail. The interior of the helm is blackened and fitted with an adjustable, leather suspension liner and an adjustable chin strap of leather with a brass buckle.
