Seax of Begnoth was found in the River Thames in 1857. The original weapon is exhibited in British museum. Weapon from Dark ages of England, from times of Vikings and Saxons.
Special Limited Editon: 250 pieces only with a numbered Certificate of Ownership.
The Limited Edition Deluxe Seax of Beagnoth is a battle-ready replica of the famous Thames Scramasax which has been embellished with 18k gold-inlaid runes and geometric design. It is idealized for display with a Wood and Brass wall-mount.
The blade of the seax is forged from high carbon steel and was heat-blued to darken it to a finish that not only best displays the gold runes, but also looks akin to the original which, at over 1000 years old, has darkened with age and patination. One side of the blade is inlaid with 18k gold runes, the reverse of the blade has geometric design in silver and gold.
The wooden grip is hand-carved with knotwork design and finished with gold inlaid facets. The blade tang is secured with a pair of pinned rivets.
The sword is paired with a scabbard of durable, quality leather with stitched construction and integrated belt loops. The belt loops are embellished with brass knotwork conchos and knotwork embossing.
The horizontal wall display mount is of wood with brass plaques. It has two hollow sockets on the back by which to hang it - it is also backed in felt to protect the wall and plaque from scratches. Mounting hardware is not included.
